This is a fascinating book. I read part of it for a course on religion that our UU minister is offering. I didn't expect to enjoy the book as much as I did. Behrens definitely highlights people and history that is not necessarily common knowledge. I have been a UU for almost 40 years, have taught Religious Education many many times but I didn't truly know about the American history of my denomination. I highly recommend this book if you are curious about how the Unitarians and Universalists progressed in our country.

This is a book I will return to whenever I need to look up some one or some bit of the history of our church. It's very well written by a well respected Unitarian Universalist. He also was the co-writer of "A Chosen Faith".
