I listened to this author on public radio and loved the enthusiasm and presentation of this book- I bought it as a Christmas present for someone who loves math and was shocked to find out how razor thin it is- like paper thin- I should have checked out the page count- very very brief and not as entertaining as I had hoped.

I purchased this book after watching Hannah Fry's YouTube video solving the mystery Santa problems. It is a fun and mathematical way to look at various aspects of Christmas, from how many calories Santa is expected to consume (and burn off) to making ornaments, optimizing wrapping paper, cooking a turkey and more. The printing is high quality, especially for the price.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I do love math, but am definitely not a mathematician, and you do not have to be to understand the content. It was just a fun book, and gave me an opportunity to think about ideas from a different perspective, without really having to work too hard at it. The book is also very humorous.

Like so many here, I'm sure, I bought this book out of a respect and admiration for Hannah Fry. This little book is soooo adorable! I'm a math nerd, but even my sister (who is a self-proclaimed anti-math) loved flipping through it. Hannah has way of connecting with people and math in a way that makes it accessible. I'm sure that this was kind of a "throw away" in terms of the impetus to write this book, but the mathematics is sound and the concepts covered are deep. I would absolutely recommend this for coffee table real estate during the holidays.

Super cute Christmas book for the math literate in your life. It is not too difficult on the math, the scary bits are in the endnotes, but you would have to enjoy math to love this book. How to cook a turkey, ensure everyone gets a prize in the crackers, and gift wrapping strategies are just some of the problems addressed. Very witty and mathy. Loved it. May read as annual tradition.

This is a pretty technical explanation of the existence of Santa Claus. Nice, but sort of hoped it would be more of a coffee table conversation book. It is not really easy casual reading. Good reference book!

Bought this for my brother at the recommendation of a trusted colleague. I haven't yet gifted the book, and I'm enjoying reading it for a bit before it officially changes hands!

One of the prettiest book. Perfect as Christmas gifts for nerds like me.
