I must admit I relented to read this one book because the last one disappointed me, but this one just reconciled me with Mrs Tamara Gill’s work.I do loved both main characters, Henrietta and Marcus are two handsomely crafted characters, they have their flaws and make mistakes but they stay true to themselves.Henrietta despite finding herself widowed so early in her marriage, because she has loved her late husband, didn’t became bitter nor throw caution to the wind and go back to the ton as a free woman.Marcus while never wished for his cousin’s death, welcomes his new fortune, it is quite a boon for his crumbling estate and it will help to settle his son. So he never expected to fall for his late cousin’s widow.They have an instant attraction, and they do not try to hide nor fight it. Their real struggles are about what they think are kind of no-way secrets, can they open themselves to the other and how will each other reacts to it.I loved to see them interact, react to another, fight their feelings then give in, then how they apprehended each other’s secret and the decisions they took, the errors they made then how they decided to settle them right.Plus a lovely epilogue and an awesome cover.

Lady Henrietta Nicholson, Marchioness of Zetland, has just buried her beloved husband. She thankful he provided her with their home, or so she thought. She has long realized that she’s barren, after a year of marriage and a previous doctors opinion she truly believes it.Marcus Duncan didn’t expect to inherit the Marquess title, but now that he has he has plans to either sale the properties or rent them to good family to support his Scottish castle and his son. What he doesn’t expect to find his cousin’s widow to still be living on the estate one year later or to be extremely attracted to Henrietta. Marcus and Henrietta both have secrets they aren’t ready to share with each other so it becomes just one misunderstanding after another. Marcus gives her time to come to grips with her new situation as she help him to understand the working of the estate. The two find a passion neither expected, but come to want and never let go, but secrets stand in the way of their happiness. The two grow closer and it becomes harder to reveal their secrets even as the secrets are tearing them apart. This is a captivating story of romance and passion at its finest. This my honest opinion and review after I read the book.

Lady Henrietta Nicolson, widow of the former Marquess, who still resides at Kewell Hall, agrees to let Marcus stay at the manor. She also offers to show him around the estate. They are attracted to each other almost immediately, and after spending time together, begin a short affair. Both would like something more. Secrets, his and hers, may make a deeper relationship improbable, if not impossible. Can they work through the problems, or will they go their separate ways with just a happy memory of each other?Henrietta and Duncan are awesome. They fit together perfectly. Both are intelligent, strong, and competent. They are also understanding, kind, and caring. Theirs is a heartwarming story of recovery from loss, finding acceptance, and falling in love. It is an easy to read compelling story. It holds your attention and keeps you hoping for a happily ever after. Henrietta’s family is loving and supportive, and Papa gives really good advice. I have enjoyed the Lords of London series, and I really liked this story. I recommend the book and series.

Lady Henrietta Zetland, Marchioness of Zetland is definitely not looking for love again after being widowed so young. Most men need an heir and Henrietta can't provide one. This is her secret but Marcus has one also.Becoming a marquess is just what Marcus Duncan needs to save his crumbling Scottish estate. Marcus is instantly charmed by Henrietta, and then a passionate love affair ensues. This attraction is not what either expect.This tender second chance romance title is just what I have come to expect from this author. This book is captivating and the characters and story are well crafted. I loved this couple and all they stood for.I gave this book 4.8 of 5.0 stars for story line and characterization. There is a bit of spice in the intimate scenes that tantalizes but not so avert as to turn you off.A sincere thank you, Ms. Gill for coming back to a style I have come to expect from Tamara Gill books as the last one I read from this series disappointed me.Â

Could love ever come again? Lady Henrietta had lost her husband and was not looking for another attachment. Removing herself to her husband's country estate, she is happy to be out of London but is a little overwhelmed in running that home.But, fate in the way of an unexpected heir shows up to claim the estate and it begins! Marcus Duncan has his Scottish home and needs money to restore his holdings so intends to sell the estate. But when the two meet sparks fly and the attraction is high. The problem is Henrietta thought the estate was left to her but there is a slight problem.What a lovely story that takes two people who seem meant for each other, but the secrets they harbor seem to hold them apart. The author as usual takes us on a journey with wonderful characters and emotions that come alive. Prepare to start page one and not be able to stop until the end. Although part of a series this can be read as a standalone, but you wll want to read every story!

To know a love so good. So many thing against them! I was just so invested in this story. I don't know how she does it but it's always impossible to put down until the end. Greatly recommend this and all her books.
